To start off this project i started to research some techniques used by film makers such as the different types of sound used in films and also things that will involve the cameraman and editing. These camera techniques that i researched helped me when we were faced with the group task of recreating a chosen film scene. We chose to recreate Dobbie's death scene from Harry Potter. This was an satisfactory first attempt at filming a scene like this and it was very useful for giving us the knowledge of how we could improve if faced with a similar task in the future. We would vary the camera angles a lot more as otherwise it doesn't flow very quickly and gets quite boring from an audience's perspective. The research I did into Dadaism was very insightful and helped significantly when making our own Dadaism style sample piece which was successful in my opinion. The sections which worked the best were the parts we had edited, changing the speed, changing to black and white and reversing some parts. The thing that I enjoyed about this task was the freedom we had as the footage had no limitations on what we could include in the footage.
When making the fashion advert we looked at some other professional fashion adverts which had been made professionally from which we found how abstract they could be so it would be up to myself and Kris to come up with an innovative idea. We used some similar pieces that we used in our Dadaism sample piece and tried to film on different days so that we could get as many different clothes in as possible. The locations we used were the ones that were convenient to where we were, but I believe that we used them to great effect as the editing we did in Adobe Premiere Pro made it look like quite an interesting video and the variety of shots used made it more appealing than our previous work.
