Dadaism
This was a prominent art movement in the early 20th century, often dull colours and experimental styles. Lots of collage techniques are often used and their works are often used to tell stories, which often conveyed subtle political messages. This movement was often known as anti-art as it was against the art movements of the time and so weren’t considered pieces of art when they were produced.

After a bit of research and once we had looked at a piece of Dadaist film we tried to make our own version using what we had watched for inspiration. Some of the effects we noticed were the use of black and white scenes as well as some of the clips In reverse. Instead of thinking about a storyline we first thought of some actions we would film which were similar to the shots in the film we watched. Tying shoelaces and a clock face moving we thought these were things we could film and then out into reverse afterwards in After Effects. Once we had started filming we thought up a storyline of one person chasing the other and looking for signs and clues along the way, when filming we were thinking about the effects we could apply to each clip to make it look Dadaist. We completed our filming and then took the clips into After Effects to edit them together, using mostly the back and white and the reverse tool, we also changed the speed of some clips which gave a bit of a surrealist effect to them.
